During racing, on behalf of WiR, Katie also made a special bursary award of £600 to WiR member Eleanor Boden. The award will enable her to apply for and attend the "Transition to Racing" training course at the British Racing School, which will cover all aspects of racecourse procedures and rules. Eleanor is an Equine Lecturer at Myerscough College, in conjunction with the University of Central Lancashire.

Following the summit John Baker, Regional Director, Jockey Club Racecourses North West, commented: "With more than 100 guests supporting this first event it's a reflection of the appetite and importance of this topic. We are delighted to host this event with Women in Racing and look forward to developing the idea in the future."
